Startnik puts real people's side hustles online, in front of real customers. These rules protect those customers, the people who use the service fairly, and the trust a page made with Startnik should carry. They are part of the Terms of service.

1. Be truthful

  • No false or misleading statements about what you offer, your prices, your qualifications or anyone else.
  • No invented reviews, quotes, awards, “was” prices or false scarcity (“only today”).
  • Health, money and environmental claims only where you can prove them and where the law of your country allows them.

2. Nothing that hurts the people who trust your page

  • No “get rich quick” schemes, pyramid or multi-level recruiting, or anything that asks customers to pay before they can see what they get in an unfair way.
  • No collecting payment for things you do not intend to deliver, and no phishing for passwords or card details.
  • No investment, lending or insurance offers, and no services that the law reserves for licensed professionals, unless you hold the licence and say so.

3. Respect other people's rights

  • Only texts, logos and photos you own or have permission to use.
  • No photos of identifiable people without their agreement.
  • No impersonation of another business or person, and no name that imitates a well-known brand.

4. Nothing unlawful or harmful

  • No content that is illegal where it is shown, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence.
  • No goods or services that are illegal, or advertised in a way the law forbids (for example rules on alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons and medicines).
  • No offers directed at children.

5. Requests from your page

  • Use the details people send you only to answer them and to do what they asked.
  • Do not add them to mailing lists or pass them on without their clear agreement.

6. Do not abuse the service

  • No attempts to get around plan limits or security measures, and no more than one free account per person to get around them.
  • No automated access, scraping or probing for weaknesses without our written permission.
  • No reselling of the service without our agreement.
  • No malware or links to it.

7. What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may ask you to change something, hide content, take your page offline, suspend the account or close it. Unless there is urgency or a legal reason not to, we tell you what we did and why, and you can reply to hello@startnik.com if you think we got it wrong; a person reviews it.

Anyone can tell us about a page that breaks these rules or the law: Report a problem.
