Terms of service

The agreement between you and us.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Dieses Dokument ist nur auf Englisch verfügbar.

These terms are the agreement between Startnik (“we”, “us”) and the person who opens an account (“you”). By creating an account you accept them, together with the Privacy policy, the Acceptable use policy, the Data processing agreement and the cancellation and refund policy, which are part of this agreement.

1. Who the service is for

Startnik is for people who want to start something of their own on the side — selling what they make, offering a service, teaching, helping — and need to be found online. You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that the information you give us is true.

You may use Startnik before you have registered a company or any other business. Whether, when and how you need to register, declare income or hold a permit depends on your country and your activity, and is your responsibility; the pointers we give are general and are not legal or tax advice.

2. What we do

From your answers we prepare a free launch plan, name ideas, a public page for your side hustle, a launch kit (messages to send to people you know, short texts for your social media profiles, a poster with a QR code) and ready-to-post pictures with captions. Requests that people send through your page are kept for you and forwarded to your email. What each plan includes is shown on the Pricing page.

Texts are drafted by software, including an artificial-intelligence model, from the facts you provide (see How we use AI). We improve and change the service over time. If we remove something you pay for, we tell you beforehand and you may cancel.

3. Your account

Keep your login details to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done through your account.

4. Your approval and your content

Nothing goes public without you. Your page goes online only when you put it online, and posts are shared only by you, from your own accounts.

You decide what is published, and you are responsible for it. Before your page goes online, check that what you offer, your prices, your claims and everything else are correct and allowed where you live. A text written by software can be wrong.

What you upload or type (texts, logo, photos) stays yours. You give us permission to store, adapt and show it as far as needed to provide the service. You confirm that you have the right to use it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

5. Requests from your page

When someone writes to you through your page, the request (their name, how to reach them, their message) is stored for you and sent to your email. You answer them yourself. You use their details only to answer them and to do what they asked, and you delete them when you no longer need them. For these requests we act on your behalf; the Data processing agreement applies.

6. Payments from your customers

Your page can show your own payment link or how to pay you. Your customers pay you directly; their money never passes through us, and we are not a party to anything you sell or agree with them.

7. Prices and payment

The Free plan costs nothing and has no time limit. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance at the price shown on the Pricing page when you subscribe. You can change plan at any time; when you do so during a month, the rest of that month is charged or credited in proportion on your next invoice.

Prices exclude VAT and similar taxes, which are added where they apply. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.

If a payment fails we tell you and try again; if it keeps failing, your account moves back to the Free plan — your page stays online with what the Free plan includes.

We may change prices. We tell you by email at least 30 days before a change takes effect for you, and you may cancel before it does.

8. Cancelling and your right of withdrawal

You can cancel a paid plan at any time in your dashboard. There is no minimum term. Within 14 days of your first payment you can ask for that payment back in full, without giving a reason; this also covers the right of withdrawal that a consumer has in the European Union. The details are in the cancellation and refund policy.

9. What is not allowed

The Acceptable use policy says what the service may not be used for. If you break it we may hide content, take your page offline or close your account, as described there.

10. Other companies' services

The service works with services of other companies, such as Stripe, Anthropic and domain registries. We are not affiliated with them and do not control them. Where you use their services directly — for example a payment link or a social network — their terms apply.

11. Name ideas and domain names

When we say that a .com address is free, that is what the registry answered at that moment. It can be taken an hour later, and a free address says nothing about trade marks or names already used by others in your country. Check before you buy a domain, print anything or register a company name.

12. Who owns what

The software, the design and the name of Startnik belong to us. The texts and pictures prepared for you are yours to use, also after you leave. Because they are produced by software from common words, we cannot promise that they are unique or that they can be protected by copyright, and similar texts may be produced for others.

13. No promise of income

We help you start well. We do not promise customers, sales, income, a position in search results or any other result. Numbers in your launch plan are arithmetic on the numbers you gave us, not a forecast.

14. Availability and support

We aim to keep the service running at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may interrupt it briefly for maintenance. Support is given by email at hello@startnik.com.

15. Suspension and closing an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other people at risk. Unless it is urgent, we tell you first and give you the chance to put things right. You can download your data and delete your account yourself at any time (see the Privacy policy).

16. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, nor the rights a consumer has under the law of their country.

Apart from that: we are not liable for lost profit, lost income or indirect damage; and our total liability to you for all claims arising in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in those twelve months, or 50 euros if that is more.

17. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. For changes that matter to you we send an email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may cancel before that date; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new terms. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.

18. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Luxembourg. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may go to the courts there. If one provision turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
